Creepy, it's like you can read my mind or something!

The little patch of lawn that I have is undergoing serious evaluation as I accumulate more plants....and yes, of course I buy "in case the marginally hardy plants don't make it" replacements even before winter starts! What if spring came there was a bare spot and I couldn't find any cool plants at the nurseries?!?

I absolutely love this and wish everyone thought this way. Every time I rip up another couple of square feet of lawn to plant something cool at my parents' place I have to have "turf doesn't count" conversation with my dad.

Hi Joseph,

What are the odds of Arrowhead shipping bulbs to Toronto. I expect Phyto is needed, Difficult / Costly?

Well, I laughed quite a bit from this. Thanks!

Then I wondered if you suffer from the same deer issues as me and my buds here in southern NY? A whole different version of decision tree could easily be created dealing with "deer proof" plants. Punch line? Deer don't read the labels!

Don't have a hosta? Get one.

Have a hosta? Rip it out.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Very good, but there needs to be something about having a driveway, and the driveway is either full of potted plants, or not full, meaning there is room for more...

We are so like this, always justify whatever we want to buy, even if no space!

This is great Joseph! You would be proud of me. The neighboring house to mine is vacant and every year, we have taken over more and more of the lawn...I have dreams of taking over the entire yard! This year I grew an assortment of dahlias. We'll see what next year holds....

Hi, I couldn't find an email addy, so I'm contacting you here. I would like permission to reprint this cartoon in the April edition of our rock garden society newsletter, with proper attribution and a link back, of course. Let me know.
