Wm, maybe Portugal minus? I actually wasn't that impressed... my teenaged self would be SO disappointed in me.
Danger Garden,
I wish it was like going to the corner store... WAY too much time on planes. I'm back now. I've got pictures, but almost none of plants. There isn't much green in Lisbon.
Hmmm, I may be biased but I think you might just have seen the wrong parts of Lisbon. To me Lisbon has always been a city of flowers and gardens more so than any other of similar size that I have seen. There are a number of beautiful secluded parks, botanic gardens, and estates in various parts of the city and in the suburbs even the sloped strips of grass at the side of the highway have in many places been converted into vegetable and flower gardens...I agree that the trip there is grueling, though.
College Gardener, You could be right -- I didn't actually get to spend much time in the city, as I was in the conference all day. And I was only there 5 days, so most of the time I was jet lagged and cranky...
Greenman, I should have told you I was coming... I thought about it, but really, I had almost no time at all outside of the conference. Someday I'll have to go back and see the green side of Lisbon!

Portugal PLUS? or just regular Portugal?
You toss around "I'm in Portugal" as though it's like going to the corner store! I hope there are pictures upon your return.

Also, Amber had led us to believe that you were in Portugal LAST week. What's up with that?

You could have said you were coming and I could show you my garden and the green part of Lisbon that you didn't see.
You're right College Gardener. It's true that we had very hight temperatures the last weeks but the city is still green!
