When I say I have clay soil...

I mean CLAY.

I was digging a deep, deep hole (for an exciting reason that will soon be disclosed), grabbed a lump of clay, and on a whim sculpted it into this little bird:

I expected it to crumble or fall apart as it dried. It hasn't. It is rock solid. This, folks, is why you don't work soil when it is wet.

  1. Not sure if I'm more impressed with your gardening prowess, or with your skill as a sculptor.

Can you make some clay pots?

  2. Jim, I'm half tempted to try making pots! But I think I'd need to build a kiln for that...

  3. Great job! I love the sparrow! Kinda' like "when you are given lemons, make lemonade" you are given clay and you make art! Cheers!
